BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Missions Are Overly Demanding

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are required to unlock specific weapons.

Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions created through the Portal feature to complete them, underscoring just how arduous these challenges have become.

Comprehending Battlefield 6 Tasks

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of getting twelve from the forty-one main guns available in the game.

Some of these locked weapons might eventually make their appearance on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration across Reddit

Within Reddit, players are understandably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Extremely Difficult Mission

One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with long-range weapons

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at such a long range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.

The Workaround

However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the developer's vision.

Yet, if completing the missions in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for grinding them out in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.

At the moment, the community continues to share their thoughts on these demanding battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
