Shocking Recording Captures Instant Police Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault

Both Sergeants Instants Before the Assailant Received Electric Shock

A police sergeant who jumped to the assistance of a fellow officer that got attacked by a knife attacker has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he placed a blade to the throat of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the law enforcement personnel and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist after a vehicle incident in Whalley Range in summer 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.

"Officer attacked," PC Wolstencroft stated over his radio.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage released by the agency showed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, rush to Sgt Foster from the rear with a blade outstretched.

He collided with the policeman who stumbled and dropped to the street, before Sgt Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the ground although being multiple times hit with the knife.

PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a safe opportunity, concluding the fight to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "Please provide help on my throat now, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell sustained two lacerations to his neck and more cuts to his limbs and torso, whereas Sergeant Foster suffered cut injuries.

Officials reported Sergeant Foster employed his hands to stop his colleague's blood loss prior to paramedics arrived.

The new recognition arrives after the trio of policemen were granted departmental Courage Honors in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the area union branch in early 2024.

They were also awarded a Regional Bravery Award in July 2024.

"The efforts of each policeman in the end saved each other and ensured no civilians endured any wounds."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in April 2024, as stated by the department.
