Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Vehicle Fans Are Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, if gamers will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons car everyone is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
While many players would undoubtedly love to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed automobile the patriarch built himself in the 1991 installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. We aren't even getting the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in season 10. Instead, fans are getting the Simpsons' standard well-worn sedan, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it stands as an iconic element of the show. For those who pay attention to the game's car hitboxes, the Simpson family car shares the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the only customization item from the series coming to the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the challenges will require players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to the Simpson house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of earnable items isn't yet revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is any indication, it seems fans will also receive rims with a TV showing the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.

This event coincides with the extensive The Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which brings a brand-new map of the fictional town, in addition to a 30-day Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event begins on Saturday, Nov. 1 and ends on November 17th.
