The American entrepreneur Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Buyout Proposal Post-Initial Contact
The long-serving executive managed Tottenham's transition to the state-of-the-art venue in 2019.
American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick has dismissed submitting an official acquisition offer for the North London club.
Tottenham had before “firmly declined” an preliminary inquiry from a consortium spearheaded by the American last month and insisted the team was not for sale.
Yet British acquisition regulations required that, having had an informal proposal turned down, the interested parties had to submit a bid by the October deadline or announce they would refrain.
Confirmation of the decision was provided in a statement made by the club to the London Stock Exchange, confirming the club is “ceased to be in an takeover phase.”
Earick posted an image of the announcement on digital channels, stating: “It's been a privilege interacting with Spurs and the owners' delegates over the past few months.
“I maintain deep admiration for the club, its leadership, and its followers, and hope for only the best.”
Spurs' leadership thanked the group for its “positive engagement” in negotiations and for “acknowledging the clear position” of the shareholders that the team is not for sale.
Earick is a one-time music presenter who also was employed in aerospace studies for the space agency before creating his technology firm, which concentrates on tech, entertainment, sports and recreation.
The informal offer was the third approach rejected by the organization's leadership since the sudden departure of executive chairman Levy in the fall.
On 8 September, the organization declined offers from previous club stakeholder the financier's the investment firm and a consortium spearheaded by Roger Kennedy and Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited.
Daniel Levy and his family hold about a significant stake of the parent company – which has an majority interest in the club.
Levy was the English top flight's most enduring chair and is believed to have received in excess of fifty million pounds during his almost quarter of a century in the position.
Yet he was also the focus of regular protests by the club's followers, especially last term as domestic league results proved below expectations.
Spurs won their major honor in seventeen years when they overcame the Red Devils in May's continental decider.
